A brand-new body care line called Ontu just launched at Target, and the timing genuinely could not have been better. I had been on the lookout for a new body cream to try, and when I saw that Ontu's signature scent is vanilla musk, (one of my personal favorites) that was all the motivation I needed to make a beeline for the beauty aisle.
Ontu entered the market with a clear, compelling promise: facial-grade skincare for your body. That means high concentrations of active ingredients, formulations designed to actually deliver results, and with sensitive skin in mind. The line is suitable for all skin types, including those of us with dry, reactive skin. It’s where “science meets indulgence” and in a space where 'moisturizing' can mean just about anything, an ingredient-led brand is the kind of positioning that gets my attention every time.

My Honest Ontu Body Care Review
I decided to start with three products from the launch lineup: the Cleansing Oil, the Firming Body Butter, and the Glow Dry Body Oil. Here's my full, honest take on each.
Ontu Cleansing Oil
If you have dry skin, you need a cleanser that actually respects your moisture barrier, and this one delivers. The Ontu Cleansing Oil lathers up beautifully and feels genuinely hydrating throughout the wash, not just after you rinse. The texture immediately reminded me of the beloved Glow Getter Body Wash by Naturium, which makes sense once you see that glycerin makes up nearly half of the formulation here too. It also includes a triple oil complex for extra skin softening.
My skin came out of the shower feeling clean and without that tight, stripped sensation that can come with harsher formulas. For dry skin girlies, this is the kind of cleanser that can take your skin from parched to soft and hydrated.
Ontu Firming Body Butter
Full disclosure: I expected this to be much thicker. I see “body butter” and I automatically think the thickest texture possible. The texture is rich and creamy, yes, but it melts right into the skin in a way that feels indulgent without being heavy. The key ingredients include a multi-butter blend and a biometric lipid complex, which work in tandem to support skin elasticity and firmness over time.
I haven't used it long enough yet to see a visible difference in firmness, but I can absolutely see how the product nourishes and softens my skin after the first use. My skin feels velvety smooth immediately after, and the texture makes application feel like a mini massage. This paired with the addicting vanilla musk scent? A true sensory experience.
Ontu Glow Dry Body Oil
This is the step I didn't know I needed, and now I can't skip it. The Glow Dry Body Oil is the perfect closing act, especially for anyone nursing dry skin through winter or transitional weather. You can use it as the final layer over the body butter to lock everything in, or swap it in place of the butter entirely as we move into warmer months when you want moisture without the weight of a cream.
The formula absorbs quickly, delivers a genuinely luminous glow, and leaves zero greasy residue. The star ingredients are rosehip oil for elasticity and squalane for deep, restorative hydration. These two are a dream pairing and the vanilla musk scent layering is triple-scented luxury. Believe me I plan to run this back all spring and summer long.
The Final Verdict
Ontu is good in my book. For a brand-new launch available at Target at under $25 per product, the formulations punch well above their price point. The vanilla musk scent alone is reason enough to try it, but the ingredient quality and the immediate skin feel are what will keep me coming back. Hydrated, plump and glowing skin – who can argue with those results? Whether you're building a full three-step body ritual or just looking to upgrade one product in your routine, Ontu is absolutely worth picking up on your next Target run.
